Well the rain has ended here. Any chance of snow or sleet would come from some isolated showers coming from the west. Hate to say it but it's about done here Ivanhater.

Looks like about an inch, maybe a little more. I haven't actually measured it yet. Looks like several more hours to go, so I think 3 inches or maybe more is possible.

Brent, how far north of Auburn are you? My niece's b'day is today and they're having a party for her. I hope the other little girls can make it her house. If they can, then they could have a snowball fight before she opens presents!

We had heavy snow here around 3 am, then again between 5 am and 7:30 am. We got a little over 4 inches of the white stuff! It's amazing how beautiful things look in snow LOL.

Unfortunately, all good things must end. Light flurries now and the sun is trying to peek thru the clouds. Temp must be slightly above freezing as the snow is beginning to melt from the rooftop. Trees are still loaded and from time to time we hear limbs snapping.

Just talked with my sis in Auburn-- it started snowing about an hour ago. While we were on the phone, it switched back to being mixed with rain, but radio is reporting it should be back to big, wet snowflakes shortly. The kids in their neighborhood were out trying to scrape together enough snow to make snowballs, but there's not enough... yet. She was on her way home from the store and the radio was reporting the snow should go on for another 2 hours. WOW!

Holding at 35.8F. I don't think the snowcover will melt off here today. During the snow it was heavy and wet....compacting fast. Our bridges here in Copiah county are dangerous.....alot of accumulated slush on elevated roadways. When all this freezes later today....driving will be difficult.

Almost 2 inches here, it appears that the heaviest snow is over, though there still is some light snow falling. Looking like we will go well into the teens tonight which will make the roads much worse in the morning than they are now.

I am so jealous! I was so close yet so far. All we got here was boring old rain even some thunder this morning. If it would of just dropped another 10 degrees, we would of got snow too. And I couldn't travel anywhere since I have to work all weekend as usual. Well at least we saw our snow Christmas Day 2004. It may be quite some time before I see it again esp considering in 31 years I have only seen it snow 3 times in my town.

Thanks.

Another burst of moderate to heavy snow now... don't think it will really amount to much more but it is SO pretty to watch falling. I could watch it all day.

Started snowing here in Charlotte at around 2:30. Getting steady now, temp dropped to 35.6 quickly. Almost 7 degrees in 30 or so minutes.

I see, the NEXRAD is now in clear air mode so it's picking it up better.

Currently just a few flurries falling. There's one nice band back to my west that I'm watching. Local station in Atlanta is talking about more redevelopment through the early evening, so we'll see.

Steady snow now, as many have said, big fat flakes. Still not sticking, ground was wet and it had gotten up to 42.4 degrees earlier today. Now 34.2- should begin to accumulate here soon.
