Via NWS Fort Worth

Attention DFW snow lovers. We know tonight's "event" will not meet your standards. Even though the real accumulations are forecast out west, a brief change to snow may occur 11 pm to 4 am. This is likely for western areas (near I-35W) but unlikely as you go east of I-35E. #dfwwx

Any thoughts on the new radar since flash is gone?

At least it runs in my phone now.

I don’t like it so far. Doesn’t matter if on mobile, tablet or desktop it takes too long to load. And then zooming in takes too long to repaint the map. I switched to the Fox 4 Wapp.

Currently 30 degrees in Abilene with sleet. Expecting a transition to all snow after 3pm. 3-5 inches, possibly up to 8 expected. Been having sleet/snow on and off since 9am.

Good luck to my friends in the I35 corridor. Hope yall get something from this. :froze: :cold:

I am not a meteorologist. Anything posted by me should not be taken as an official forecast. Get your information from respected sources such as NWS and NOAA. I get my weather information the same way Hank Hill does ..... I look out the window and say ... "YUP".

So far it’s probably just going to be cold rain. 39 and drizzle. At least we’ve got about 2 inches of rain over here :spam:

The GFS long range is finally starting to show some big time high pressures building up north.

Something to hold us over. My brother is at the Grand Canyon right now. He filmed the sunrise in 4k yesterday. Beautiful with snow on the ground. It was -1 F when he filmed it on his Pixel 4a.

I just got to Eastland and the trees have that icy look temperature hit 32 on the car as soon as I got to Ranger

Not ruling out I may still go to Abilene but I really think over here is gonna do pretty good

I wish it was better for DFW but alas. Maybe there will at least be some flakes

I have made it to the east side of Abilene and it's definitely more wintry than Eastland. Won't be long before the roads start having problems. Gonna be here for the duration I think

I should have loaded up the camping gear and headed down to my property near Tuscola. Would be cold, but the winter weather would be worth it. Nothing like camping in a big tent with the snow falling.

Enjoy man, we're all jealous.

Looks like the change line is along 281 from N TX all the way down 281 to near SA before it jogs west a tad down to around Del Rio.

Brent’s out of Dallas! We’ve got a shot at wintry precip now  Last time he went out of town it snowed in Decatur. That’s close enough to north Fort Worth to go play in the snow! ❄️❄️❄️❄️
