Maybe the ECMWF will in fact score a coupe and the Upper Low will track just close enough to give those of us in the N and NW burbs of Houston our chance to see some wintry precip. With that said, the pattern does look ripe for future events in the next couple of weeks IMHO.

This winter appear to be far from over...but getting a little late for snow in Houston.

Houston's greatest snowfalls have occurred in mid February, though that appears unlikely this weekend.

Yea, I was talking more into March. May have to take a drive northwest on Fri. Still early though, today is Tuesday...

Bulletin from the Portastorm Weather Center in Austin, Texas .... the Portastorm Weather Center has issued a Field Goals with Lucy Party Watch for the Austin metropolitan area effective 6 p.m. Wednesday through 12 noon Friday. This means that conditions may be ripe for an opportunity to kick field goals with Lucy.

Stay tuned for more details. :cheesy:

Anything new one way or the other for NTX? Just curious what the latest word is or are we still waiting on the latest word?

LMAO! I hope you're better with kicking FG's than most of the kickers this past NFL season. ;)

The kids saw the TV mets talking about sneaux on Thursday and are now expecting a day off. Old Man Winter needs to not disappoint.

This is my forecast for Lumberton, Tx for Thurs/Friday from NWS.

Thursday Night: Rain and sleet before 11pm, then sleet, possibly mixed with snow. Low around 34. Northeast wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.

Friday: Sleet, possibly mixed with snow before 8am, then a chance of rain. High near 45. North wind between 5 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

This weather is really killing my fishing time. Does it know we are in the pre spawn/spawning write now.

So what does everyone think weather-wise for Thursday morning? My daughter's kindergarden class is going on a field trip to the Fort Worth science museum. I am going along as a volunteer. Any thoughts on how bad it will be in the morning?

Thru hour 60, H5 is a bit slower and further S than previous runs. Still too warm though...

Well, I now have snow/sleet in my forecast!! But after reading this morning's posts, I certainly don't feel very confident. Being just west of Beaumont, who has all rain in the forecast, I think I barely squeezed into the NWS area for frozen precip. And I'm sure it will go away, but here's hoping the trend continues to be further south!

Thursday night

Granted, it says:
Thursday Night: Snow and sleet before 11pm, then rain. Low around 34. Northeast wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.

So if it DOES happen, it looks like I wouldn't be waking up to a winter wonderland anyway. That's ok... it would just be nice to see snow twice in one winter!
