Do you mind saying what it shows for areas farther east in MS (mainly Southern MS)? If you don't want to post it in the TX thread, feel free to drop it off in our Southeast thread! :D

Euro is warm from most of MS/Eastern LA. Probably rain. Might be some freezing rain NW MS/NE LA

Figures. Thanks anyway. Not so sure that some of that rain could be in the form of freezing rain.

Euro has constantly been dry for DFW. Don't expect a big event here, SREF has good snow showers. Keep your eyes on beginning of next week

Think any parts of NTX will see any light snow tonight with the snow out west?

I've been following it on HRRR and seems like it wants to bring it out and cause light snow across NTX starting tomorrow evening. I wonder if that is going to be associated with the progression of the ULL as hinted on SREF.

Euro = not as stormy or cold early next week. Usual chill down.

Hmm, No idea! Very interesting. Is that ULL supposed to travel across Texas tomorrow?

^ Thurs.

0z GFS ensembles are much wetter than GFS. Light precip from Paris to Abilene to AUS/SA east. Core of heavy stuff is just southeast of DFW into HGX.

Hey ntxw, I see your still online so I will just ask your opinion here since it is slow and late. You told mswx a few posts ago the euro was just showing cold rain for us in se la. On the far opposite end the crazy Nam is showing half a foot of snow. In your opinion what do you see happening around here, baton rouge specifically? A little colder than forecast with pretty rare freezing rain storm or just cold rain mixed with a little sleet. Btw our low was forecast at 29 and we are already there.

NAM has been the outlier regarding your region. Not saying it can't happen but I would suspect something of that magnitude. I'm not really familiar with that region so I don't have history knowledge on what pattern works best to bring snow there or if this is similar to any of those. I'd expect a cold rain for now.

To my untrained eyes, 6Z NAM looks better than the 0Z did for both SE TX and Central TX.

And to me, the 6Z GFS looks similar to the 0Z run, probably a little better overall. It seems to keep any snow on the ground around a little longer.

Hopefully, wxman57 or someone else will be along, who can analyze them better and correct me if I'm wrong.

Btw, it's currently 19° here and my NWS predicted low was 24° - wind chill has hovered around 10° going up and down a little
Widespread readings in Beaumont ranging from 18° to 21°

It's 23° at BPT airport, south of Beaumont, in Nederland.

The 06Z GFS and the 03Z SREF are a little more encouraging for wintry weather across the region, southerngale. It should be an interesting 24-48 hour to see just what unfolds. Oh, and it's a balmy 18.2F here in NW Harris County this morning under thickening clouds.

We're twins, srainhoutx ... 18 degrees and cloudy here at the Portastorm Weather Center in southwest Austin.

Official NWS forecast says 1/2 to 3/4 inch of snow falls on us along the I-35 corridor late Thursday into Friday. That will be enough for nice pictures but not enough for kids and adults to have a "snow day." We shall see.

P.S. I should add that I do like that 6z GFS trend ... if the snow ratio is 10:1, we'd get 1-2 inches here at the PWC! :D
