You called it! I give you props on thinking that WWA was strange and then they upgraded it. Here in the tech center it is 42.9 so yea still chilly which is a good thing.

Flight into to DIA @ 6:10PM this afternoon. Hope it holds off long enough for that.....and a fairly easy drive back to FC. Then, it can cut loose!

Afternoon disc seems to really highlight the threat of wind and blizzard conditions. I think latest forecast amounts look good. They are set on 5-10 metro, my gut tells me 6-12, 6 at 12 littlton and castle rock....prolly 9-10 in Denver. which I think is good. Hopefully it's closer to 10, but you just never know. Given only about a 12 hour period of dynamics, it would be a tall order to get 12 inches east of the hills as most systems barely have a few good hours of inch per hour snow, let alone 12 straight. Csi banding would allow 2 inch per hour snows, but who knows where thatll set up. Either way should be interesting drive in the morning.

Well, radar starting to fill in nicely. Looks like if we can get some heavy snow falling starting at 9pm, we could have a nice 10-12 hr window of heavy snow. Hard to believe they initially had us under a WWA instead of a WSW.
GFS and NAM have been about the most consistent I've seen them with a storm. Alway calling for between 0.5" and 0.75" of QPF.
Tomorrow morning commute should be interesting....

No thundersnow here yet in central Denver, but snowing good. Just drove from Lowry area and it was a bit heavier there. Here, grass and cars well covered, roads starting to show snow tracks. Temp was 30.

Think were hitting a lull...must be nuking out east 470 right now. Still snowing here but considerably less. I have a little over an inch. Still lotsof wet pavement except shaded areas. Less traveled roads still showing some snow, but main arteries wet. Not sure if the sprayed tonight or not. Don't know that it will translate to more snow. I think we can only squeeze so much out of a 12 hour storm. And this is pretty well on schedule. Wind def picking up. Earlier visibility was already poor as I was going south of the city park golf course, which is about the openest area we have. I can usually age snow intensity as to how well I can see the skyline. Bad means can't see down the street. Moderate means I can't see downtown. Right now it's obscured.
Just checked the cams and worst road areas right aree470 and i70 east near DIA...looks totally snow packed.

Have close to 9" as of 6am. Roads are crappy.

Well right now for downtown I would say were just over 6-7 inches. I watch for a while last night it seemed that a stripe from Littleton throug downtown was dry slotted for while , while centennal to DIA was nuking and golden/Boulder through to Greeley was nuking. Finally hit heavy around 1230 here, even had a bit of thunder snow. Overall not quite what I was hooping for but, that's what you get CSI band, winners and losers.of course I should be happy, this would have been one of our biggest storms last year hopefully we have another inch squeezed out, still snowing.

Lol, true. It seemed that last year some of the north metro areas really got short changed. So far they've been the winners this year. I'm not quite where I was last year. Suspect when all is said and done I'll have about 8 here, which is what we had last week. Last year I ended up with like 30 or so...I'm guessing because I don't keep track, I just go back and add my threads on here but I re remember when the season was over I remarked that I had done 10 or so better than DIA, wich had 18.

snow has hung in surprisingly long this morning here in the metro and east of I-25 it appears. we had a heavy burst here in the last hour, probably dropped an extra inch or so. havent been out to measure this morning though.

9" in Fort Collins.
19" for the year.
Flight into DIA last night was awesome. Approach from the southwest. Must have been some convective action over/around the Pikes Peak area. The plane was absolutely rockin.'

Interesting point about where you measure. I saw such a variation. There was grassy spots in my hood with barely 4 inches if the were south facing. The north facing part of my yard had 8 inches in the grass, and i saw some " drifts" to about 1 foot. My elevated planter wall had 4-5. It was a good accumulator last week, but in think with wind and it being relatively protected on all sides by walls, think the wind direction didn't favor it. In general it's mch easier to measure a storm that's heavy wet and windless, then a drier snow with wind.
