Sleet and snow starting in BTR. Can already see more flakes than sleet in just the last 15 minutes.

Nice. One of my kids told me he heard sleet in Metairie at his mom’s which was around midnight. Everything still dry in Pensacola for now. I’m going to sleep another couple hours - gonna be a wild one!

Is there a good radar for tracking where the snow is?

06z Icon and GFS join the others with bringing more intense snow bands onshore. Another big increase for Pensacola and Mobile

Man it would be absolutely insane if that 11z HRRR verified. Near 10 inches right over my house.

Gonna be wild 91. Our neighborhood has underground power lines so I’m hopeful we keep power especially with the mid-teens tonight. None of us have ever seen anything like this down here, so it will be an experience to remember - hopefully a mostly good one.

It’s bands like the one south of Beaumont right now that will be the payouts.

Nothing here yet but some heavier looking bands headed this way. One just south of Biloxi heading straight this way should start the day.

KMOB reporting light freezing rain and 29*F. I’m about 8 miles from the airport and it’s still overcast here.

The event begins shortly.

Got a FaceTime from New Orleans where it’s still light snow and starting to accumulate with the sleet from last night. Bout to jump in the shower and head to work for a couple hours.
