I'm about 5 miles south of the airport.

There’s a nice clear patch over southern Mobile county, but that should fill in rather quickly, probably before 9 AM.

Yeah, friends in Bay Minette are reporting flurries and sister in Stockton saying a light accumulation already. That all passed to the north. Won't be long now though. Probably about 30 minutes judging by radar.

Next hour HRRR once again went up.... approaching 8 inches for Mobile and Pensacola.

Amazing what just 12 hours will do. Showed almost nothing Image

Should that latest HRRR verify it’d be the biggest snowfall total by far for Mobile and Pensacola.

Like, ever.

I like the older radar page. Shows a bit of heavier precip about to enter Mobile Co. That should get us started.

South MS/AL should start seeing some good accumulations in the next few hours!

LOL...doesn't matter. 8 inches or 1, people around here can't drive in either.

Coming down harder. Roofs are already white and it's already accumulating. No melting.

These high resolution models are really strengthening the snow shield like a tropical system as it approaches north central Gulf coast

Moderate dry snow falling in Biloxi with temp at 25 degrees. The dry snow accumulations on the metal roofs and then a big gust of wind blows it all off into the yard giving a blizzard effect. Too cool, no pun intended!

Is this a higher ratio event? This snow is not heavy and wet. As matter of fact, it hardly stays on the steeper parts of the roof because the wind blows it all off. I have a huge drift in the corner of my roof that I think I’m going to need to knock down. It’s at least a foot tall in the corner.

I'm too inexperienced with the models (regarding winter) to know where to even find the ratios. Sorry BigB. Maybe someone else can teach us.
