Ok, I'm lost... are the models indicating more sub freezing Winter weather for SE TX next week?

Next weekend so long range....and you know how tricky it is to get anything down here. Just follow the EURO. :D

I wouldn't get too caught up in each individual run....the most important aspect of the past two runs is that it's going towards the overall look of the European

Not that this is tropical season but the GFS has always been right biased when it comes to track. Always wanting to break down ridiging in the long range. ..I am beginning to think it is warm biased when it comes to arctic air masses....that Euro run has a very cold pattern if it were to verify.

Now one fellow that lives in Texas zone 8 said the only reason Houstonians would want it really cold was so it would kill the bugs in the *bushes* down there. Just how big and bad are those bugs that ThunderSleetDreams is willing to risk killing everything down there that isn't the hardiest plant that Texas has?

We got skeeters down here that carry off small pets...I wouldn't mind another sub freeze just to make sure we don't get some hatchlings after the rain we get Sunday.... :D

It does, the extended version of the NAM is the DGEX model....looks similar to this morning's GFS so probably last to catch onto the pattern change

Good morning weather crazies. Either the Euro was bad or everyone went to sleep. Hope its the latter.

I don't have to time at the moment to look over the latest models in detail, however, it does appear that the GFS is still going in the right direction. It looks like it continues to come in colder.

This is all great for watching the snow and sleet come down, but I'm returning from SF next Friday AM and if DFW is closed, I'm going to be stuck for a long time. AA will start canceling flights if a snowflake is 50 miles from DFW.

If you consider 1-2" a good amount, then yes.
