Everyone that got it or is about to, enjoy it . I'm moving on to the next possible non-event for DFW.

That would be nice, at least get to see it falling. But hey, at least we got a little.
Did you get even a dusting? Here all I can see is some ice pellets in the frozen bird bath. That’s it.
My patio table on my back deck was covered with sleet/graupel. That rules out having my morning coffee and donut out there.

In the last minute or so, the freezing rain is beginning to turn into sleet. Ice is beginning to form on everything near downtown Houston, just beginning to freeze up on the edges of the driveway. 30 degrees and steadily falling.

I take it back. I only looked out the front windows. After looking in the back, I guess the wind blew the front yard clear and it settled in the back. I managed to slowly trudge back there to snap a pic. It’s incredible!

Streets and driveway are dry here. Slight coating of ice on patio furniture and vegetation. Nothing major at all. Bust here?

Yeah I think it was a bust. I'm at work and the roads were just wet, no sleet or snow made all the difference. Perhaps its not over though? I haven't been able to look outside since sunrise. Exciting nonetheless.

The winners of this storm are the folks in Southwest Kentucky who got 6-10 inches of snow when 1-3 inches was expected.

Roofs look shiny so they are icy, but from looking outside that’s it. Haven’t ventured out yet, too cold. Unless we get something new, looks like i’ll be going into work...
Edited to add, sleeting now. According to husband, I slept through earlier sleet and brief power outage....

NWS calling for 26 here and apps for 30. I am not sure we make it above 20.

So looked at the models. No winter precipitation with in the next 384 hours in the DFW area. However that could change.

The way the models have been working this winter, this may be our best bet.

Be careful if you are going south. There's probably not much traffic on the roads, so if it keeps sleeting I imagine they will eventually ice since its in the mid 20s. I may be stuck at work now, lol.

Sorry if this sounds harsh ... but this is not a bust. I don't know what you were expecting when you awoke, but right now in Austin we have most overpasses iced over. Sleet falling in places around town and not melting, adding to the ice. APD is working numerous accidents and has asked people to stay off the roads. The radar at 9:30 am shows more inbound sleet and maybe snow from the west for the next few hours.
Try telling our first responders right now this was a bust. The event is not over. SMH.

I looked at the GFS, NAM and HRRR. Google tropical tidbits. You can find the models that way. You can also find the Euro model here: https://weather.us/model-charts/euro/te ... 1800z.html
