Whew, deja vu all over again on that run. Almost looks like a carbon copy of last weekend.

So what am I looking at here? Models showing a possible L forming in the SW GOM which will move towards the E along the GC region?
When is what I'm looking at supposed to happen? Sometime next week? The high temperatures in my area at that time might be what? 40's? Any chance for snow or just cold rain?

Thanks for the maps Ivanhater. Looking good. Only thing I really don't agree with is the low moving due east or even ese. I know it is way to early to "wobble watch" but it looks just to far south. Wonder how much it will change in the next week or so? keep us updated.

That would be for Saturday the 19th. It is showing a possiblity of snow. This is way too far out. I repeat. WAY too far out. Don't get excited. There's no reason to believe that is actually going to happen at this point.

I'm not about to say that this will or won't happen this far out, but we thought the same thing about the Dec. 4th event when the models first started showing it and we all know what happened. The trend is currently in the direction of a colder and wet pattern across the South. If this trend continues like it appears it will, then this certainly isn't out of the realm of possibility.

Hi guys. I am a long time lurker and finally decided to join. I loved reading all the information last week about the snow storm. Unfortunately, I missed out on the snow. I literally sat out in the yard until 2 am looking for snow. Hopefully this next little system will produce some white fluff for us in the deep south. I have a 4 year old that would LOVE to see some snow.

Welcome to our weather home. If the trends continue it is quite possible that your 4 yr. old may get his/her wish. Always feel free to ask questions and/or make comments. We're just regular people who love the weather.

From Birmingham this afternoon:

LATE FRIDAY INTO EARLY SATURDAY THERE WILL BE A BRIEF WINDOW
FOR LIGHT FREEZING RAIN OR SLEET GENERALLY NORTH OF A LINE FROM
TUSCALOOSA TO CALERA TO LAFAYETTE BETWEEN 3 AM AND 7 AM.
ACCUMULATIONS LOOK MINIMAL AT THIS TIME...ALTHOUGH ANY FREEZING RAIN
COULD RESULT IN LOCALLY HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS.

LOL, flip flop. From epic cold and a snowstorm to that. Hilarious.

As my local met says, this is absolute voodoo. Just way too early to tell what will happen.

What is that blue patch in eastern TX and Western LA? Is that representing heavy rainfall? Just wondering. Thanks in advance.

Yeah that is heavier rain. However, this is very long range. Flipping from snow on the Gulf coast to shorts and flip flop weather on Christmas.

Meaning what? The southeast will have temperatures well above normal like the 70's I had here yesterday? Is that what you mean Mr. Ivanhater?

Snow on the Gulf coast and shorts/flip flop weather? Who is putting on the shorts and flip flops and who is getting the snow? I know it is pretty far out still.

Well according to the 12z GFS, all of us in the Southeast will be making snowmen on Christmas. But the 18z show all of us in the Southeast heading for the beach on Christmas.

In other words, the forecast is still wide open at this point - way too early.
