I'm loving as I look southwest more and more keeps popping up...hopefully some of that is getting close enough to PSC headquarters.
Everyone stay safe... seeing people heading out in cars..and its thick enough to cover the ice even when being driven over so you have no idea where ice is underneath.

I hate to bring bad news, but I think a lot of people are going to be having wrecks in the Metroplex come morning. This stuff is brutal to walk in. I've slipped twice already.

They said the snow would help with that....it's not.

Big Snows??? There's already widespread 3 inch amounts across the metroplex.

We have officially become spoiled now. 3 inches no longer get us excited. Big Snows are 10" +

If we are not in a mini ice age, I don't know what qualifies as such.

To me, it appears that the snow is transitioning to light snow after the initial moderate snow band. We might have other rounds of moderate snow or light snow at times, but I don't think it is ending. There are some higher end radar returns to our south and west and it appears these bands will continue to move north throughout the night.

Big Snows??? There's already widespread 3 inch amounts across the metroplex and the ULL is still in west Texas

I am in Richardson and I would say I've had maybe 1 inch so far.

The flakes here are so big the rooftops are already covered along with the cars. Amazing. It's only been snowing for about 30 mins. if that.

Seems to be trying to fill up the "dry a lot" everytime i look there seems to be more building. Have to see how it all unfolds but I wouldn't be surprised to pick up another 2 inches.

This is just awesome so far and more to this would be even more awesome. You can barely tell where anything is like the sidewalks or curbs.. It's amazing. Seems like they should issue a WSW because this ice really is dangerous under the 3 inches of snow so far and if we get more it'd be worse.

I landed on my elbow after about the first three minutes outside. The snow gives you a false sense of traction/security but it doesn't take much to get down to the ice and then -- wheeeeee!!!

Seems to have tapered off quite a bit here just east of downtown Dallas. Sitting at about 1.5" of new snow on top of the ice.

Looks like there will be more to come! Low still in west Texas, and it looks like short lived Dry slot as it is starting to fill back in.

It's not filling the "dry slot". This developed out of the "dry slot", just like a line of severe spring thunderstorms. I can't stress that enough. The band out by Abilene/San Angelo is rather impressive & it will move more NNEly to ENEly & effect a large area of TX overnight.

I'm still not getting snow here (central Sherman)

Anyone in South Sherman, Howe, Van Alstyne, Melissa, Gunter, Whitewright? getting snow?

This ULL is a freak of nature. I have no idea where it's getting the moisture from. Dew points were so low compared to temperatures when snow was falling.

DFW Airport is sitting at 20 with light snow/fog and 1 mile visibility.

1.5" of beautiful soft (not soft when you fall from the ice under it though) dry powder...just south of dfw intl
very slick underneath though as others have said..false security...the ice is still there and will make you slide all around

I have always asked how is it that areas like the great plains and such get so much snow when they have no large bodies of water near by. Perhaps Arctic air like we have in place does things that we are not used to seeing around here. I mean how many of us watch snow storms form up north?
