Ok so how much "rain" would we have had last night if this was not snow?

After all the snow melted in my rain gauge, there's an inch of water in it. I know that's not scientific, but it's something. :)

I'm still amazed we had a serious back-building snowstorm park itself over DFW. Just crazy. Essentially we saw a taste of a "lake effect." What an awesome event, that none of us will forget.

Just curious, does anyone know what long range model the Groundhog uses? So far he seems to be right.

yuck... not me... i can remember very vividly how bad it was last summer during the drought.. especially when i went out and camped in new braunfels.. everything was bone dry.. i remember my 'attempt' to tube the river and all day long it was a battle of float 100 feet, get up and walk 100 feet.. float, walk, float, walk... carrying an innertube all day long in 100 degree weather gets old really quick...

we've been fortunate to get as much rain as we've had this winter since the summer was so dry

I'm in the 3.5-4 inch area on the rain totals for yesterday. For some reason, the storm totals end at 9:53pm and it rained all night until about 8:30am this morning, so I'm not sure how much more that would be. Anyhow, if it fell as snow, I could have gotten over 35 inches of snow?

j/k but it would have been a lot!

When I'm cold and can't seem to warm up, I start wishing for warmer weather. Then I remember the horrible, record setting heat from last summer, the $400+ electric bills, and I grab my Dallas Cowboys Snuggie, light up the fireplace, and enjoy the cold weather once again.

I hear some of you thinking another major snowstorm is possible in the next 10 days or so......

After this event, anything less than 6 inches can't be considered major.

I think DFW has now had its fair share of snow. I hope our friends down south in Houston, Austin, and San Antonio get their shot. Every kid should get to have as much fun as my kids did yesterday and today.

So will some of us in the San Antonio area , and yes points south of SA. None the less, it's going to be a pain in the rear starting Little League baseball practice in the next couple of weeks with a March 6th opening date if the whole model run verifies.

My daughter is the the catcher for her high school's JV softball squad. They've had two scrimmages cancelled and have basically been able to practice only inside Denison's indoor football facility. After the family got in from sledding and snowball fights, I told her at this rate she might get to play a game by tax day.

So was it Lake Ray Hubbard, Lake Ray Roberts, or Lake Tawakoni that kept it going? :D

I LOATHE triple digit heat.

Spring warmth and fall's mildness, a-ok. Early summer beach weather, that's great. But when we're talking about multiple 100 degree or more days with a little humidity thrown in for good measure, forget it.

After the Fourth of July and probably until Labor Day or later, I'll be dreaming of yesterday's snowstorm or of this season's white Christmas.

It was the Ray Hubbard/Lavon system. :)
