Yeah ... terrible. I've gone two days now with no water. Using melted snow to help flush toilets. Fortunately I keep a good supply of drinking water anyhow so that's okay. City has a boil water notice but you can't boil what you don't have. Fortunately many folks are now getting power back today. Hopefully we all get water soon.

I don't think any one of us could have imagined such an outbreak.

Snow has been falling since 8AM this morning. I've picked up 3.5 inches of snow (5.5 on Sunday/Monday event) and it's still falling. What a way to end winter. If it wasn't for all the power/water issues this would be an amazing 4 days across South Central Texas.

Pretty amazing the staying power of this snow. Told the kids they will never see our lake frozen again.

Sun is out and things are melting. Dont think the snow will last much longer on the ground.

Yeah it's pretty wild to see still so much snow 4 days later

Also noticed big piles starting in front of Walmart where apparently they are dumping whatever was "plowed"

So, I guess going forward, the things left for this winter season thread to finish up with is some sort of recap that includes at least some of the following:

1. Will Texas have another winter precipitation event and/or cold wave threat before the end of March?

2. What are the final numbers, records, damage figures from this historic period?

3. What are some of the final seasonal snowfall figures in places like Dallas, Wichita Falls, Nac, College Station, Austin, San Antonio, etc.?

4. Will the Winter 2020-21 thread break 400 pages?

5. Could it be possible for the thread to break 500 pages?

A nice overperforming snow event in south central Texas to end this historic week of winter weather here. Now it's time to bring on spring!

Likely the snow will be gone tomorrow. It will likely get above freezing today in DFW like I predicted yesterday. Still under boiling water.

Oh next week will seem balmy. It has been nice seeing a white backyard all week. Our folks who stayed here finally got power back. The rolling outages blew a transformer, so that kept them out of power longer than others.

Glad I bottled up a bunch of water before the boil water notice expanded over my area.

You know, funny thing is I’m a bit disappointed about the snow total at my house. I got at best 4 inches overall this week. Enough for some sledding and for the kid to play, but it still seems DFW is get the short straw.

I wouldn't say I'm disappointed(mostly because of my chases in Abilene/Waco) but I definitely noticed how again DFW got less

Well, you could have chased in Oklahoma (10 inch snowstorm & 8 inches 2 days after!), but Waco & Abilene is closer to your home anyway . . .

And also, I found a 3-foot Snowdrift in the Ditch today while clearing out some of the snow from the driveway, there was so much snow, it looked like the Driveway was so much bigger!

All observations are in Tecumseh, OK unless otherwise noted.

Winter posts are focused mainly for Oklahoma & Texas.

I can't complain about 4-6" on the ground for about a week but hey north, south, east, west all got a foot . Dry hole curse does exist!

The bill will come due. Places that get a foot mother natures takes on a snow drought for a decade. we paid hard.

Well, I was a good sport about my 4.5 to 5 inches.

Until Del Rio got 9 today. I mean, come on. But, it is the first real snow IMBY since we moved to this house in 2015, so I can’t complain. Just nice to have something decent.

I don't think any one of us could have imagined such an outbreak.

I dunno -- Jeff Lindner had been warning for a long time...all last week with the warnings getting more dire as the system moved-in:

Last Thursday AM: "Preparations: To be clear…this is not our “normal” freeze and maximum preparations and precautions will be required for this outbreak."

Last Saturday AM: "Simply put the cold will result in devastating impacts to the region both to infrastructure and vegetation. Wind chills Monday afternoon into Tuesday will fall into the -1’s and 1’s over the entire area…this is extremely dangerous cold to exposed skin and persons should limit their time outdoors and make sure all exposed skin is covered." The in big, bold red text: "I cannot stress enough that maximum cold weather preparation MUST be taken to help attempt to mitigate significant property damage....Residents should be prepared for power outages."

Last Sunday AM: "The long duration of the sub-freezing temperatures along with the brutal intensity of the cold air mass is going to create extensive damage across the region to vegetation and infrastructure.....Residents should be prepared for power outages."

Then on Monday: "A brutal arctic air mass centering over the region will result in near all-time record low tonight. Intensity of cold will likely result in continued infrastructure failures with power, water, natural gas, and other services. Suffering tonight will be widespread, especially for those without power."

Is it actually possible to get a storm track/evolution that results in an accumulation maximum in dfw? It seems that either a coastal low handoff or just a track that’s plain too far north would prevail instead
