at 9am fort worth still at 31 degrees with freezing drizzle & fog, visibility 3miles.
Denton at 30 with freezing rain & 2 mile visibility.

edit : due to deterorating conditions , txdot Wichita Falls & San Angelo urge drivers to stay off all roads. Atleast 2 dozen school districts just changed from a 2 hour delay to no school at all today.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what will go on with Texarkana? I keep hearing a million different theories. Thanks.

Is the temperature dropping? It was 34 and just regular drizzle at DFW airport through Southlake and points south. This was about an hour ago.

For those wondering, im looking at the Ouchita mountain situation again, if you look at the directin of the winds from the NE off the mountains, right down wind, there is a slightly warmer pocket of air on the lee side of the winds. All this time, i never noticed it!

This storm seems to be one that we will just have to wait and see radar and temp trends once it starts up. If the NWS forecasts of mid 20s the next two nights verify it will not take much precip to cause serious issues.

it appears temps are still slowly dropping as the 2nd push of the cold air mass pushes south, alliance airport has dropped to 30 degrees. We are progged to get above freezing today though, and we probably will, but it's just something to watch if your out driving this morning in northern Tarrant county & anywhere in the freezing rain advisory area.

Wichita Falls/Abilene are more likely areas for a freezing-drizzlemaggedden Dallas area is not cold enough.

I'd suggest you rely on your local NWS forecast. They certainly indicate the potential for wintry weather in your area. Also, your fellow S2Ker from Texarkana -- aggiecutter -- always seems to have a pretty good knowledge on your weather situation.

Is there any chance that Harris County might be added?

I would hesitate to say the "Dallas Area" is not cold enough? So people are aware temps across the West and North part of DFW are at or below freezing and bridges are becoming icy. "Dirzzlemaggen no, but still use caution" .

I've noticed a temps are still dropping throughout the morning hours as I type this. Is there a push of colder air coming in? I see temps in the Wichita Falls still dropping pretty good and is now at 22 !

Are the Ouatchita Mountains high enough to cause a Rossby Wave?

Yeah sorry I meant Dallas county is like 32-35 degrees while Fort Worth is 29-31.
Temps have actually really dropped off north and west of Fort Worth. Even 10am observations Gainesville is down to 27 & decatur 28

Current location is the I-30/I-35 Interchange in DTN FTW, Current temp is 32/33 degrees with light freezing drizzle. Traffic on the Interchange seems to be moving good as well as I-35.

Yeah, I was noticing that this morning and late last night as well. It would seem the cool air damming against mountains is very real. It's very visible along the Rockies as well. I'm with you, in that it's quite surprising many of us have never noticed that with the Ouachita Mountains before. I guess it's because so many of our pools of cold air came from the NNE this winter.
