Sleetmaggedon '18 has started in Irving. Joking of course but it is picking up in intensity.
Big batch moving in.

Hearing reports of sleet falling in Lewisville/The Colony. Have yet to encounter any precipitation in frisco but it should be here shortly.

EDIT:About as soon as I posted, sleet began to fall.

12z GFS shows a potentially devastating ice storm Fri into Sat across the SRN half of OK... Appears mainly rain for N TX at least through 144hrs.... Now the signals are there GFS has trended sig colder since the 00z run last night... This has to be watched closely...

It was very odd for them to remove it in the first place. The band was developing when they removed it. Now this will not create widespread issues but I do think it warrants a low end WWA. Glad SHV has left theirs up. We had a band of feeezing drizzle earlier and should see sleet around noon.

More winter wx has fallen in the last 10 minutes here in frisco than has fallen in the last 12 months

There has been a wide array (in terms of wintry precip) on various guidance with the western low coming out. Some runs Kansas, some runs Oklahoma, and some runs Texas. A good portion of them at least have a good rain event.

And just like that, the band splits as it approaches the northern part of Dallas Co.

Wishful thinking. Once we get an inch of snow we will complain there hasn't been a WSW for 4 inches :ggreen:
