Update: 29(According to WXBug) Light Snow, Winds screaming.

Nah Serenta, I think pretty soon it will start the glob tradition and just form a huge light-moderate snow precip shield.

Is anyone else getting snow right now?

EDIT:Snow coming down at a good clip accumulating nicely cars, roofs, trampoline white.

Austin NWS says:
Current temp 37
:Today: Snow and sleet, becoming all snow after noon. High near 37. North northwest wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible."

If it is all snow after noon can we still have accumulated sleet? I am confused. Sleet under the snow lol?

I don't think I even got a flake here in Denton...it's passed us by now.

Looks like the south side of the Metroplex is getting some good snow from this band, going as scheduled.

Looks south of you on the radar and covering DFW proper with ice and snow north through Plano northward on radar at the moment.

ruc lastnight was hinting at a more e-ward track but that was not the case per latest radar trends i expect
within the next hour most of the moderate to heavy snow activity to be se of a sherman to dfw airport down to
brownwood line and points south & east.... north of i-20 i would NOT expect much in the way of accumulations
as matter of fact i would say widespread maybe 1" - 1.5" amts MIGHT get a report or two of maybe a 2" amt
in the metroplex but NOTHING more then that at this point... further south i would say 2-4" down in central tx
today, temps need to also be watched closely look slightly higher then i expected this am down south.....

According to the radar, it should be snowing here in Rockwall. But, nada.

:uarrow: The dewpoints around the metro are very low compared to temperatures = dry air = lots of VIRGA! Unless you get under one of the darker bands.

Getting the occasional flurry here in Richardson. Sheesh, what a letdown. Especially with the way the radar was lighting up before bedtime last night.

Yep. I'm not expecting much from this. Maybe a dusting. Maybe just some flurries. Folks to the south enjoy!

Msstateguy83 Ok I have my own thoughts, but, are you saying nothing else will deveolop and Fort Wort is done? Because I heard a report on the news that the bulk of snow for Fort Worth will be from 9:00-12:00 when we could see heavy snow bursts possible which lead to the up to 2" totals... Not endorsing any opionons though...

Can bursts occur? Certainly, are there indications on radar or models currently that they will? Doesn't seem like it. Everything was predicted mostly south of I-20 and it's doing pretty much just that as far as heavier precip goes.

Good morning folks. Looks like the snow line is from Sonora in W TX to just N of Waco at this hour. Points S from Del Rio to just N of Austin to Waco are rain/sleet mix. Temps and dew points are not our friend today in SE TX for those wanting to see snow. Let's see how the morning unfolds. The snow near Dallas (south side) is producing rather large flakes, so maybe, just maybe we can see some mixing and a changeover this afternoon and evening before it all moves away. It truly is nowcast time. Good Luck! And Dallas area folks. I was really hoping you would break your record, but that doesn't look to good at the moment but things could change.
