Wow at the rap. Temps will only fall, its not looking good for roads. Convective thunderstorms and 20s never turns out well. Good thing today is Sunday.

Yeah that would be crazy if that happened while in the mid to low twenties.

I am getting real tired of this ice. On the rare occasion I do have plans to actually go out, it seems like there is a freaking ice storm.

Hope things aren't too bad out there for tomorrow morning.

I'm not joking. Huge flakes flying here. Starting to collect on the roof.
It will snow for about a minute then taper off then start again.

That's kind of cool. We're not getting any big flakes at the moment. Just a few flurries.

Doesn't seem like any of the local mets are buying what the rap is selling. Steve McCauley still thinks everything will be very light, and the main impact will just be some bridges getting iced over.

He did say this, which I thought was pretty interesting.

P.S. And just an FYI: I have never - and the word is NEVER - seen such a cold air mass WITHOUT the assistance of a McFarland Signature or a strong dip in the Polar Vortex. The upper-level wind patterns are not in a configuration I would expect to be delivering the bitterly cold temperatures pouring into the country right now.

:uarrow: Well if that trend continues and some of the 12z runs trend towards it, FWD is going to have to issue warnings.

There is a McFarland signature, big Alaskan ridge has been sitting there...which is what a McFarland signature is! Ive been screaming and yelling omega block for 2 weeks. Good example here that it is NOT the polar vortex driving the cold this year, it is player resulting from the -EPO

Moderate to heavy convection starting to fire in the Wichita Falls/Childress/Lawton triangle.

Where it is 15 degrees.

Or less.

GFS decides to blow up thunderstorms too. Given the fact the model has been so bad with temps and it is already below freezing, this is a problem for N-central and Ne Texas.

Local mets are possibly downplaying this event, with a "Not much gonna happen here. Move along folks." attitude. I'm so confused about what to believe!

We had a little freezing drizzle overnight and there's a thin, patchy layer of ice out back on the deck.

It's 24 here and it continues to fall.
