I guess I'm late, but on Thanksgiving weekend, my family (wife and two kids) plus a few friends climbed Buckeye Peak in three days and over Thanksgiving weekend.
Buckeye Peak is 12,867 feet elevation and is north of Leadville Colorado. Snowfall was well below normal for the time of year (especially below timberline), but most of the bare spots seen in the photos are the result of high winds scouring the snow off the upper elevations. My wife and five year old daughter only went to 11,720 feet rather than the summit, but the rest of us went to the summit including my seven year old son. Erin Waller took the two sunrise photos and I took the rest. I hope you enjoy the photos of the snow.
