Temperatures this morning (with cool national map added)

#1 Postby Scott Patterson » Wed Dec 09, 2009 8:12 pm

This morning we had -29F at the house and it was officially -25F downtown. Other areas of Colorado didn't fair that much better. Check out the morning lows:

I found this link which is also kind of neat. It shows our official -25F. Check it out for the rest of the nation.

This morning much of Texas was colder than much of Maine and even parts of Minnesota!

Those are some very low temps. I believe one year back in the mid 70's the low got down to 9F here which is cold for here. During that time the temperature never got above 32F for 2 days straight if I recall. Over in NOLA some of the gages on one of the power plants froze which caused power outage problems in parts of the city that year. I was watching a reporter on TWC yesterday reporting from somewhere in Iowa, I have never lived anywhere else but here in the deep south and I don't think I could make it up there or anywhere else with similar weather conditions during the winter. I like to wear shorts from time to time during the winter. I know it's not officially winter yet but it sure looked like it was winter in Iowa yesterday while here the high reached 72F yesterday which was a NWS record high for this area yesterday.
