#1 Postby Mr Bob » Fri Oct 17, 2003 8:09 am

If you have access to any lightning data or you live in W AL or E MS, check it out....an amazing amount of ground strokes this morning with temps and dewpoints in the low 50s! Quite an impressive shortwave moving by...

Hope you stay safe, Bob. Are there any severe thunderstorm warnings in your area?

Safe? I would be outside checking it out were it here in KCHA but unfortunately it has passed by to the south...SPC mentioned it in their outlook but nothing severe...more a curiosity with such a coolish temp profile.

I know it's wierd when the temps are so cool yet the Thunder n Lightening makes it seem like a TX dryline is moving through. The cells didn't look intimidating on radar but made some noise I am sure. Some pretty good energy with the little vort.

South Carolina last night (especially from Orangeburg southward to my area was treated to a spectacular light show and strong storms).

You are obviously aware of the dangers with lightning, thus you shouldn't be too far away from a shelter when thunderstorms are in the vicinity.

Remember, if you can hear thunder, the storm's lightning is close enough to strike you.
