If you havent noticed the GFS has hinted at less and less troughiness here in the East and more on the troughs in the far western states. Is anyone else noticing this or is it just me?

Everything is very modified by the time it gets to the East Coast.

Very unexciting and I hope this is not a trend for the future i just hope itis a hiccup.

In a way, I'm kind of glad for the Western states because that drought has been awful and devastating. It's still too early to talk about snow around my area so I'm not that upset about it.

The GFS has its problems, so I am not too concerned. Yes, it will not be brutally cold here over the next week or two, but I don't see a return to 70+ degrees either. After a few days of cool weather this weekend (temps about 10 degrees below normal), I expect seasonable to slightly warmer than normal for next week (temps in the 50's to low 60's). Not cold, but not ridiculously warm either.

I surely hope your correct JCT because my stuamch cant handle being a big bustorama for me this season. I did good last season but now its seriously time to improve not degrade. You know.

Actually, I don't even think that is a bold call I made. I expect to see a plains storm around the middle of next week. This should have no problem pulling up enough warm air for you to hit 70 next week IMO. We'll see.

You may be right, but I hope not. The storm for the middle of next week will IMO dissipate before getting this far east. A stronger storm taking a track through the lakes would certainly bring in enough warm air for me to see 70 degrees. I just don't think it will be that strong, or that far north.

Seeing the new EC and the other globals would lead me to believe likewise ... further south in CHS, I'm expecting only a brief cooldown followed by a quick return to unseasonable warmth, possibly back to 80º by next Tuesday.
