Break Time

#1 Postby azsnowman » Sat Jan 03, 2004 9:21 pm

Everyone else has been cryin' "Winters over, this heat sux" etc, etc......WELL, we're getting a break next week and honestly, I for one am KINDA READY! The warmest day in the past 10 days, 35°, coldest maximum 19° with a windchill of -21°,avg low, 5° above zero.....we've had 4 nights of below zero out of 10, coldest being -5° here at the house. This temps are Feb and March temps. PLUS......I'm going on vacation this coming Weds thru Friday in Sedona, I've got 3 tee times already made and I'm SO READY to play golf, heck, I don't even care how BAD I play, I just wanna hit some balls around!

LOL!!!

You know....my working third shift and being outside during the coldest parts of the day makes me feel like it has been winter a LOT longer than it has!! I feel like Spring should be coming already...when in reality the arctic blow is only just coming my way! I really do not enjoy the cold all that much, but it is bearable when I have snow falling! :D And when I don't have to be out in it!

I always cry my eyes out when we don't get winter weather in winter when it is supposed to be cold and snowy.

You'll never hear me complain about cold and snowy weather. You know where you can find me:
Shoveling mass amounts of snow and taking long jebwalks in the snow, watching it blow around and drift and breathing in some nice brutally arctic air and throughly enjoying life.

Last February during PD bliz2, I was in Harrisonburg VA at the Massanutten Ski Resort with my Christian singles group. We were heading back to Woodbridge along I-81 in very bad conditions, blowing snow, heavy snow, 14 degrees, very, very low visibility and it was quite life-threatening to us all.

What was I doing? Was I finally growing up and seeing the light? Of course not. That will never happen, I am too obsessed with snow in winter. I was praying for heavier snow, even though the truck up ahead of us was throwing up so much snow that we were in effect, trying to see in what amounted to WHITEOUT CONDITIONS.

In winter I truly care for nothing else but Siberian Cold and brutally heavy snow and I pray hard for the same all winter. The harder it hits Woodbridge the better, cuz then I'll enjoy another brisk jebwalk, looking at all the tall plowed snow piles and marveling at all the cars stuck in my big snow event.

I never get enough snow! If we ever experience a thermohaline shutdown and we get another Little Ice Age in ten years or less, I would enjoy it to no end. I would be heading north, while everyone else would be heading south. In winter or in an Ice Age I would be loving snow more than anything or anybody else. I am in middle age now and I still have not learned yet. I am stubborn to the very bone: I love snow.

YOU WILL NEVER HEAR ME COMPLAIN ABOUT TOO MUCH SNOW OR THAT I AM TIRED OF SNOW. THAT WILL NEVER, EVER HAPPEN TO ME. I WILL NEVER CHANGE NO MATTER WHAT.

I guess its fair to say I even worship snow from time to time.

BTW, Enjoy your Golf :) Never let 'em see you sweat. Give 'em heck!!

ICE AGE JEB!!!!! Bring on a full Ice Age!!! You'll never hear me complain!! I love cold, I love severe snow!!

What I'd give for some snowy and cold weather around here.

BTW AZ, been in the mid-60's here, even low 70's, been able to play golf whenever. It'll cool down here this next week, I'm expecting highs in the 40's most of the week.

Well, I've only been playing since March of 03, I started out with a inexpensive set of Wilson, didn't know if I'd like the game or not (BOY......now I wish I wouldn't have started LOL..it's an illness!) I've started replacing my irons one by one with Pings 8-) ONLY when the paycheck allows

I wasn't complaining by ANY MEANS, we're still in Exceptional Drought Conditions, we need every single flake we can get, it's just break time..

I'm really happy for you Dennis with all of the snow that you've been getting.

I hope that you have a great vacation in Sedona!

That's what I loved best about Arizona when I lived there. You can enjoy both winter cold & snow, and springlike conditions in the same day. Just a couple hours drive away from whatever you want. Here in the east we have to go about 700 miles to to enjoy springlike conditions or play a round of golf in good course conditions.

Indeed.....a 2 hour drive in ANY of the 4 directions from Pinetop will put you in 4 different seasons anytime of the year, well, almost  hence the reason for Az quickly becoming the fastest growing state in the Union, dang it.......we've been discovered "LOL!" Especially the White Mountains, I bought a 1 acre parcel 19 years ago, paid 8500$'s for it, thought, "MAN, talk about highway robbery!" SHOOT! Now, your LUCKY to find a 1 acre parcel under 60,000$'s

Cincinnati is heading into it's coldest and snowiest time of year. January! I just love this month. So no break for us I'm sure. In fact Wednesday into Thursday looks interesting. Local mets are hinting at accumulating snowfall. Cold temps have arrived too. So many people hate this month but me? I revel in it!
