IT GOT SOOOOOOO COLD LAST NIGHT THAT..................

#1 Postby Lehigh » Sat Jan 10, 2004 5:38 am

It got soooo cold last night that my water pipes froze.

As I type this thread it is 1 degree outside.

Now that's down right cold for me.

I am going to use a hair dryer on my pipes later on this
morning to get the water running thru them again.

I know better and I should have turned on one of the
spickets, in the house, to make sure the pipes will
not freeze up as they did.

Stupid me..............

I just hope none of the pipes cracked but almost certain they
did not............I hope.

This is the part of winter I don't like...................1 degree temps.

We are only going to reach a high of 13 today and that's down
right cold.

If you don't know already..........I am in the Valley.

I am sure those of you that are north of me are probably
seeing lower temps them I am right now.

Well........it is winter.....................what the heck.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....................I am freezing...LOL

I did say we will get our cold snaps here and BOY did we get our fair
share.

Sorry to hear about your pipes freezing, Lehigh. Thankfully, the 0 degree low temp that I saw this morning did not freeze the pipes in my house. I am only expecting a high today of about 15 degrees.

Yep, Lehigh, I am up in Tamaqua and currently we have a temp of -5°. I haven't felt air this cold since 1994 when I lived in Bethlehem. But then again, I lived in Phoenix for a few years from '96 to '01.

Sorry to hear about your water pipes freezing. :(

Current temp here is -22 F...the cold is causing a lot of problems here, water emergencies have been declared in some parts of the county due to pipes freezing or breaking...thankfully, none of that in Watertown yet.

Sorry to hear it, Lehigh. I'm in a new home in your area, and I didn't even THINK to open up one of the faucets. Doesn't look like anything froze, but I'm pretty disappointed with myself that I didn't think of it.

I myself don't really mind the cold, but my wife? That's a diffferent story. Wait until I tell her that it's either a snowstorm or even more bitterly cold air in the next week or two (since that seems to be the way we'd keep the next few systems outta here). Neither option is appealing for her!
