LONG TERM...
RAIN ENDS FROM THE WEST EARLY SUNDAY MORNING WITH TEMPORARY WARM UP
FOR TWO AFTERNOONS AHEAD OF A SHALLOW ARCTIC BOUNDARY EXPECTED TO
NOSE SWD DOWN THE MS VALLEY MONDAY NIGHT/TUESDAY. THIS AIRMASS
REINFORCED BY A BIGGER SURGE OF COLD AIR ON WEDNESDAY AS UPPER POLAR
VORTEX DIVES FROM CENTRAL CANADA TO A POSITION BETWEEN LAKE SUPERIOR
AND HUDSON BAY FOR THE LATTER HALF OF NEXT WEEK. THIS MAJOR SHIFT
WILL CREATE SOME INTERESTING WINTER SCENARIOS FOR THE DEEP SOUTH AT
END OF JANUARY AND INTO THE FIRST FEW DAYS OF FEBRUARY. IF THE
ENSEMBLE MEANS OF GFS ARE GOOD...THEN WINTER WOULD BE TAKING A
REPRIEVE AFTER THE FIRST WEEK OF FEBRUARY AS THE WESTERLIES
GENERALLY RETREAT NWWD.
