Sun/Mon Storm thoughts

#1 Postby Colin » Thu Jan 22, 2004 4:51 pm

Well, for what it's worth, here are my thoughts for the Sun/Mon storm.

For one, the ETA is too strong, too far north, and too warm. Shift the precip shield 50 miles south, and take the track about 50-100 miles south. Then we'll be in business. I think the heaviest snow will be a line from south-central PA to NW Jersey.

The snow may change to rain from PHL to DCA...but I still think siginificant accumulations are possible there. The northern extent of the precip should be on a line from Cleveland to just north of NYC. Some areas may get a foot out of this...especially in the area I mentioned above. PHL-DCA should get 3-6", north and west of there should get 6-10" possibly 12"...around the northern extent should get 2-5".

We'll see!

do you really think that it will change to rain, If the temps are cold enough and stay cold from this upcoming artic front shouldn't the rain stay to the extreme south and east?
