If this run verifies, then I am still thankful because no rain over N VA. Nice and cold for our precious snowpack, with lows at night in free-fall :) :) And snow during the day tends to constrain high temperatures from getting out of control as well. :)

Sorry Lowpressure, you there on I-95 will certainly be mix to rain.

Maybe you will have a shot at a real snowstorm before the winter is over, let's hope so. :D

BEF- What makes you believe that this will be nothin' but a light mix to rain event? Just wondering.

Poofs-

1. No coastal run up North...more flat and east.

2. OVR will occur but, CAD not as cold as last week, so will change to rain quickly.

3. Gut feeling tells me this storm will not come together.

Then if your Gut is correct, let's hope that N VA does not get more than a light plain rain shower......the snow is dry, it should be able to absorb that allright, then it'll freeze and we will be all the better off for free-fall temps at night and constrained high temps in the daytime. :)

Perhaps we all need to be a little bit more cautious about this "Monday-Tuesday storm". Maybe it's only gonna move east off the coast relatively quick.

Thank you, Big-Eyed Fish...... Even if you are wrong,.......You provide a good balancing mechanism, so folks like me do not get TOO excited about what may in fact turn out to be a big nothing in the water(sorry folks, I could not resist a JAWS quip lol).

Not sure where you live, BigEyedFish, but this is Mt. Holly's 3 PM discussion:

... A winter storm possible Monday night and Tuesday...

The Parade of storms continues this winter, and current indications are showing this trend yet again for Monday night and Tuesday. Low pressure is expected to develop Sunday across the Texas area and move northeastward. As it does so, a secondary area of low pressure may form along the middle Atlantic coast Monday night and move northeastward. With high pressure over New England, cold air is expected to remain across most of the region as moisture moves in from the southwest Monday night.

There is still uncertainty as to the exact track of these storms. However at this time, a wintry mix of precipitation is possible Monday night and Tuesday. With the current projected storm track, the best chance for accumulating wintry precipitation should be north and west of Philadelphia. At this time, precipitation could range from snow, to sleet, to freezing rain. Enough warmer air may arrive across northeast Maryland, Delaware, southeast Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey for the mixed precipitation to change over to a period of rain Tuesday.

A moderate to significant wintry precipitation event is possible Monday night and Tuesday. Later forecasts will be able to more precisely determine the type and amount of precipitation.

I would wait another day before cancelling this event.
