I need Spring to wait another few weeks, or until I can get one more decent snowstorm.

I am on the fence about now w/ spring coming. We have been ripped most of the year for snow. (wilmington,DE) I wouldn't mind 1 more heavy snow in March. We are due for one that month. Then again Spring/Summer sounds good! Beach, Boat, Vacations, Corona w/ Lime...etc etc

H7 winds progged to be in the 50 kt range Thursday morning, that Robin is apt to encounter some turbulence as well since it's likely to be a tad breezy in the Whites. With the strongest winds at H7 pegged to be here in the morning hours, the stage is set for a good Canyon Wind event.

A few weeks ago during our last deep freeze I saw about six on the side of the road in the grass trrying to keep warm in the sunshine. I felt so bad for them! I haven't seen any since then.

Is it early for you guys to be seeing robin down your way Dennis & Steve?

I'd say one more good snow - tonight's will be nothing and then bring on Spring!

I have not seen any red robbins yet so spring may not be around the corner just yet. As I recall, last year they showed up in Jan....MGC

Looking back at last calendar, I write these events down on the calendar here in the office, the first Robin showed up 3 March last year, so yeah, he's a little early and looking at the forecast this morning, sure hope he has a warm nest somewhere and has the nest anchored down pretty good too! NWS expects to issue a high wind warning for later today, sustained winds of 30+ with gusts nearing 45-50 by later afternoon

Snowfall this year is DOWN over last year by some 33%......the highest peaks, were most of the runoff comes from for Phoenix and outlaying areas is about 65% of normal BUT...looking at the forecasts, outlooks....it appears these next 2 weeks could turn that around, I sure HOPE so but in the same breath, I'm READY for some warmer temps, this has been the COLDEST winter in over 48 years up here!

noted that the first 14 days of February had the coldest average low temperature there since 1964 with Cochise County coming in with the coldest average lows in the past 20-30 years. Here at the house, we are on track for the second February with an average maximum below 60F (1998 is the other). However, Feb '98 was a Niño February and wet while this month has been dry and totally obscene with no redeeming social value. Although the average lows seem warm to most people back east, that only tells part of the story since for people living in the normally cold areas such as down by the San Pedro River it means temperatures in the low teens and single digits which is plenty cold for Latitude 31.6N (a mesonet site along the river hit -2F during last December's cold snap). A cold dry winter is unusual and useless since most dry winters here are warm with the cold ones being wet.

You're 33% lower than LAST YEAR??

I have noticed that the next week looks rather promising for you out there precipitation wise. Even though it's been a cold winter, though not snowy, I am hoping that this is a sign of a turn around for your area in the near future.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
