South Jersey 7:28 Observations (00:28 UTC
Starting snowing a few minutes ago. Light coating right now. Road surfaces wet. Temperature here in Voorhees, which is about 20 minutes east of Philly is 33 with a dewpoint of 27. Pressure 30.42 and falling.
Interesting how the radar is looking. Radar echoes penatrating west of the Delaware River. Should be very interesting tonight. For elsewhere, well not so exciting. A widespread heavy snow event is a lot more fun. Hope to see more weather observations from folks across South Jersey.
Another ob in the next hour.

Correction about my comment on radar...
I meant to say radar echoes not penatrating west of Philly.

Dave, I don't doubt your call, but man it's really coming down. No mixing issue here either. I guess it will depend how long it snows.

I've got heavy snow right now in Manchester...Ocean County...29 degrees...
Looks like the band of heavy snow is setting up on a line between cape may to ocean county...now how long will this heavy snowfall last...
about .5" so far...
I think we benefit here because our county kinda "sticks" out...we're actually further east then ACY...

Only a couple of flurries so far in north-central Middlesex County, NJ (Metuchen), although interestingly, there was no snow falling 9 miles to the NW, in Rahway, NJ, where I work, but I encountered light snow on my way home (at about 8:30 pm), when I hit Metuchen. Right now the very light snow has stopped and the radar looks like the steady snow is right at the eastern edge of Middlesex County, about 10 miles SW of here. Sucks for me. Hope we at least get some accumulation - NWS says 1-2" in our county and most of the local mets have us at 1-3".

Flurries right now. Basically wasn't doing anything between 8 and 9, but at least some flurries.
Snow cover: light coating on lawn and deck.
Temperature: 31
Dewpoint: 28.6
Wind: Calm
Pressure: 30.39
Taking a look at WXTap, radar at 937pm showed heavy snow over southeast NJ. After reviewing the loop, trend has the heavy snow progressing on a north north east direction. Boy is that snow oh so close to Voorhees. Waiting to see if more is building further southwest.
For whatever reason, internet is acting a bit slow. A bit annoying. Anyway, still tracking this storm

Here in Baltimore
We got nothing but mostly cloudy skies last night. Ocean City, MD had 1.5" of wet slushy snow last night on the beach. Lewis, DE has 3.3" of snow. But Atlantic City and parts of Jersey shore seen anywhere from 2-6" of snow with this storm.
Currently Cape Cod and the outer islands are under winter storm warnings and a wind advisory. 5-10 inches of snow is expected on Cape Cod by later tonight with wind gusts over 50 mph. Boston will likely just get brushed by this storm much like Philly's southeast suburbs.
A big ocean storm though with storm warnings in effect for the offshore waters. Sustained winds of 40-60 knots are expected from Hatteras Canyon northward through Baltimore Canyon, mainly to effect the gulf stream waters. However 50 mph gusts are expected along the southeastern New England coast including around Cape Cod and Martha's Vienyard. Not a pretty time to do any deep sea fishing as folks in New England are accustomed to that type of hobby. Not a good day today. Winds and seas should subside by later tomorrow for the north Atlantic.
