The "Coastal Revenge" snowstorm of 2004

#1 Postby NJSnowFreak » Tue Feb 17, 2004 9:30 pm

If this stays like this, areas from delmarva up to ocean county, NJ in coastal sections could get some good snows here...

It's payback for all the times that areas JUST inland get snow where WE get rain.....so Mother Nature is giving all those people the middle finger and saying it's the COAST'S turn for snow

..and I just hope we get enough here to push our winter total above 20"...need about 6 or so...

Enjoy your snow... have fun. We have about 37 inches to date....... If it snows next week ( SECS) easily reach 50" ( IF HM's MECS in March, well 70" is possible.

Radar is looking very impressive for coastal SE NJ. HM seems to think a foot is possible in some areas... I'd have to agree, given the 35-40dBZ echoes extending from Cape May to ACY. Probably at least 3-4" where 1evans is located.

I'm not giving up just yet. As much as most of the winter after Dec 5-6 has sucked (unless you like dry cold), that's no reason to think we couldn't make a comeback with another storm sometime late this month or in March. But what I'm really hoping is that we can get a nice SECS/MECS to come through, then see an end to the wintry pattern and have an early spring. I'm going to really hate this winter if we don't see anymore significant snows but spring doesn't arrive until late April!

from the looks of it you guys will most likely see 6+ as long as the precip stays snow of course.

What a difference 50 miles can make! I had .25 inches in my front yard, but in Atlantic City they had about 4 inches of snow. I was a beautiful ride down the Atlantic City Expressway. It was a heavy wet snow and the trees were incased in it.

Stephanie,

There was also snow in eastern Long Island:

Old Brook Mill (East Hampton, New York)

Currently parts of Cape Cod and Nantucket are receiving accumulating snow with 4"-6" already on the ground at Nantucket.

That's a beautiful picture Don! I saw your link at WWBB and I wanted to reply, but I can't loggon yet.

I've never been to Montauk Point, but I was at Orient Point when I was younger. Actually took the ferry from CT to there too. It is a beautiful area out there - getting to it is just a hassle.
