GFS maps

#1 Postby greg81988 » Thu Nov 04, 2004 5:41 pm

Could someone please explain to me what the colored red and blue lines mean on the GFS forecast maps?

red and blue lines show how hot or cold it will be. The first red line is 10C, and the first blue line is 0C. If you're in the blue line you probably will have snow.

This is different for the 850 mb temps, because they can be colder than the surface, or warmer than the surface.
