FINALLY!!!

#1 Postby bfez1 » Mon Dec 13, 2004 7:59 am

Post from our local met here in New Orleans"

...A MAJOR COLD SPELL ON THE WAY...

Get ready to protect the people, plants, and pets. It looks like a moderate to hard freeze will be on the way for the northshore next week, specifically Wednesday, and Thursday mornings. On the southshore, we may be looking at frost on those mornings, with temperatures getting close to freezing away from the lake. Near the lake, we may not have any problems.

Indications are still strong it may get significantly colder by the week of Christmas.

Look for the updated forecast coming soon....

But you see, here at low latitudes, it's not supposed to be in the 20s or low 30s. For someone like me who lives 3 miles from the beach, that's just too darn cold if you ask me.

Wooooo-Hooo! Finally! It's C-O-L-D!

I'm sick of "break-out-the-winter-coat",
"put-up-the-winter-coat", back and forth...
I'm hanging it on the coat rack by the back door,
hoping it stays there! Now - where's my snow?

We've managed 49ºF so far at 12:34pm in Houston. Looking for upper 20's tonight. Looks like we might make it too. Earlier I thought I saw signs of the cold air modifying somewhat, but now I don't see that so we might just be the coldest we've been in almost 2 years.

Looking down the road, still looking for some FRIGID temps for the Eastern half of the US between mid week next week and the the end of the year. Looks like a true polar blast could be coming all the way to the Gulf Coast. At this point it appears that moisture may be wanting, but we can always hope some shows up at the right time.
