Dang, that's some cold air right there. I can't wait for this stuff to start spilling down. Us Texans call these types of fronts a blue norther. I hope the snow threat verifies down this way in Southeast, Texas.

Looks like we could see lows Saturday night down to minus 20 in the arrow head of Minnesota along with minus 40-45 degree wind chills. Embarass and Intl Falls are included in this stat. This is arctic outbreak #1. Wait until the middle of next week, now that one will sure grab your attention everywhere east of the rockies including Texas and the gulf coast. Then we start talking about precip along the gulf coast and the Gulf Of Mexico around Christmas eve and day. Should this mix into the colder air, this could mean the perfect setrup for Houston, Beaumont, and New Orleans, and areas further east for snow or a wintry mess. To have something like that, there needs to be one heck of an arctic outbreak worse than the one we're experiencing this weekend for the east central United States. So keep an eye out along the gulf coast come Christmas. The east coast maybe next in line also IF a coastal low develops along the east coast along the frontal system around Christmas day. Still a long way out, but something to think about and will monitor this one closely.
