Just checked weather.com to get their take. At 8:31 am they said 30% chance of "showers" on Friday for the MS/AL Gulf Coast. At 11:04 am they've upped it to 60% chance of light rain and sleet. Interesting anyway.

Hopefully we'll see something here on the gulf coast. The only thing that bothers me a little is the upper level support seems to get held up to the west a little bit. Let's keep our fingers crossed that all the ingredients get together and bring a few inches. This would be a historic Christmas to remeber. :)

I don't trust any thing that The Weather Channel has to say. They are always wrong.

The problem I have with the models is that the cold air isn't nearly as cold as it had been prognosticated to be (as per the 00z, 06z, and 12z run of the GFS). The moisture should be there, but what about the cold?

The last two fronts were pretty intense and panned out not to be as warm as some guidance indicated. With a layer of snow laid down to our north and this surge rather vigorous, there should be plenty of cold that will stay in place longer than the previous shots.
