wind howling in La.

#1 Postby LSU2001 » Wed Dec 22, 2004 9:40 pm

Boy oh Boy!!
The wind is really howling here in Baton Rouge tonight. The airport is saying northwest at 15 with gusts to 25 but it sure seems stronger. I am getting more wind now than during the severe thunderstorm this afternoon. The temp has dropped about 15-20 degrees since 6:00 pm and it is showing no signs of stopping.

That thunderstorm was pretty lame. We routinely get pressure gradient winds stronger than anything from that storm...or most "severe" storms here, don't you think? I mean, the wind today was stronger before the storm than during it. Supposedly, radar did indicate some rotation, so I guess a warning was the best course of action.

I got a little wind and a little hail from the storm this afternoon but yeah these gradient winds are usually pretty stiff.

We got some rain and some wind that I would guess was no more than 10-15 MPH,quite the boring event for what was supposed to be severe.

Was out in the middle of it all afternoon/evening never even had to turn the wipers on high.
