Glad I'm not going to be driving over the danged Mississippi River bridge today! That thing is scary in summer....can't imagine driving on it in icy/winter conditions!

ENJOY, ya'll! :D

It will. Be in the 70's by mid-week. Snow will be a distant memory.

No snow in BR yet. I just got back from trying to got down to South La. (Cutoff) All of the bridges around LaPlace were closed and there was Ice accumulation on the bridges and it was sleeting and snowing quite hard. I turned around and came home. I am actually in Watson which is about 10-15 miles east and slightly north of BR. I have only seen a little very light sleet and that was yesterday. NOTHING today.

BIG "A-MEN" to that, JenyEliza! I thought about that bridge,
yesterday, when I was reading the sleet/snow posts from
our LA members, and, I agree with you about it being scary,
in summer! LOL, I reeeeaally had to talk myself over that one -
I get real nervous when I can't see the other side 'til I crest the
top of it! Call me a wuss - I don't care!

I'm a wuss too! The first time I ever drove across it was this summer on my way to visit family in Texas. I was alone (kids were w/sister and BIL in College Station), and I have to say it was a DOUBLE WHITE NUCKLE ride...cuz it was raining to boot!!

Coming home wasn't as bad....because I knew what to expect....but going over the first time tested my nerves badly--even though my sister had warned me before hand. I SO would NOT even attempt a drive over that thing during sleet/snow or freezing rain. NO WAY!!

I'm sure they closed that bridge during this winter weather outbreak!!
