Attention St. Louis, MO and Metro East in IL SNOW!!!!
Snow, what a surprise an event that wasn't supposed to be major, just as surprised us a winter storm warning or weather weather Advisory maybe issued soon. I think that Saint Louis, could pick up 3-6 inches before it's all set and done!!! So for all those like me who Live Near Saint Louis, MO and anywhere in the Metro East and Southwest areas need to be on the lookout for possibly heavy snows. A map will be forthcoming in the next posting!!! The Event Should make it's exit before 9AM-12PM at the latest tomorrow. So it will be fast, but it could be storng. Stay tuned!!!

Probably not very much, the event may start out with about less then a quarter inch of sleet and freezing rain, before it quickly turns to all snow, and the heaviest snows arrive between 7pm and 11pm I think is a good timing with it leaving before 9AM or so with just flurries by then. at least 3 inches is almost for sure although again 5-6 inches is a real possibly, but not a definite, not by a long shot, but a good possiblity neverless.

I think at least 3" will fall in St Louis with isolated totals of 4-6 inches. This snow will come in bursts and could be accompanied by lightning and thunder in some isolated locations tonight. It's still set to make it into the St Louis area over the next few hours and then linger for awhile beyond that time,

Where did you get this information? On the radars, I can see an embedded cell of very heavy snow moving right towards central St. Louis, which is where I live, in less than 2 hours. If we get thundersnow, that will be so awesome. Last time that happened here was on March 11, 2000. It happened during the daytime, so we only heard the thunder, while not seeing the lightning. But it was a spectacular event, with the heavy snows it produced. If it happens tonight, hopefully I'll see some lightning. I would need a video camera to record it.

Thundersnows occuring, I dought that, although there could be some heavy snows in that cell, however no Thunder, but the snow shield after weaking for a while is beinginng to re-intensify so I guess it maybe possible, but right now I find Thundrsnow Doughtful, but will see. It's also heading in my direction to just east southeast of Saint Louis in Belleville, IL so maybe it will be something to monitor. I'll contiune to monitor radar trends and temperatures. So far at my home I'm reading a temperature of 33F according to my weather station that temperature should start to drop really soon so we'll see. That heavy stuff is probably sleet. Sleet is more reflective on Radar so it tends to show up heavier tyhen the precipation around it.
