Hornets? Already . I know it is Arizona, but I assume you live at a reasonably high altitude! That would be a site to see: snowpack and hornets!

LOL.....yeller jackets and snow, a sight to see. Speaking of jackets, those yeller jackets NEED a jacket at night, it's still dropping into the single digits. Yeah, I'm at 7102' in elevation, travel 6 miles east and your at NOSE BLEED elevation!

I love nature as much as the next guy, but I would not mind seeing a few of them 'stinging jackets' chill a bit!

Warmest overnight low temp is over 9 weeks too this morning, hit 29° for a low, already at 41°, 0900 MST, heading for record highs on Weds, Thurs and Friday, temps near 68-69°...that's only 21-22° above normal!

NOW....the question, COULD this be just like 1967? Had major snows in Nov-Dec, January warmed up JUST like this, then 3 Feb 1967 it HIT and hit HARD.....snowed from 3 Feb to 7 Feb, by the time the system cleared out, we had OVER 6 FEET on level with drifts OVER 17 FEET in places!!!!!!

GREAT PHOTO 8-) Now.....look at the Az/NM border, see that HIGH bald peak? I live JUST west of that a tad. If that photo was taken TODAY, you would see virtually NO SNOW, with the exception of the high country......we've been in the "60's" for a solid week now and needless to say, the rivers are ROARING, the creeks are bank to bank and MUD...my GOD the MUD.....I've seen mud and I've seen mud but NOTHING like this, you don't EVEN think about driving OFF ROAD, you pull off the shoulder of main road, you might as well WAIT until the ground freezes because you WILL NOT GET OUT!

Is that the Ruby MTN's? something like that...

Looks like a hell of an area. Ever get over to White Sands? I've always wanted to make a road trip down there. Maybe hit Carlsbad.

Looks like more rain could be coming to CA according to LArry Cosgrove. The pattern loves to repeat itself :)

Actually, it's the White Mountains of Az....elevation ranges from 5000' to the 11.580' at Mt Baldy, I live at 7102'. The White Mountains is a VERY unique part of Az, travel 20 miles south, your in the desert at 110° in the summer, travel east 8 miles, your at NOSE bleed elevation 9500'-10,000', a cool 75° in the summer, travel North 16 miles, your on the Kiabab Plat., high desert AND the Meteor Crater near Winslow, Petrified Forest, PLUS, the BEST trout fishing ANYWHERE out west!

White Sands? 8-) Love it! Carlsbad? NICE....except the last time I went (5 years ago) got down to the bottom (5280' DOWN) I had a PANIC attack, my wife said "Wonder what would happen if there was an EARTHQUAKE while we were down here!"......I'm SERIOUS, I had an ACTuAL panic attack
