Atlanta is heading for the teens tonight! At 10:00 pm, we're sitting at 26, with a windchill of about 16. Brrrrr.

-10 would be cold enough for me especially if you add strong winds, now that's just rough. I could handle -10 easy with calm winds but strong winds I just can't handle.

I assume you mean wind chill values and not ambient air temp.

Let's hope so. Then again, it did reach -30s this past week in North Dakota and Minnesota as actual air temperature..

on one hand i've got -10f currently --last i checked...might have dropped some more...damn high pressure won't scootch over a little bit so south winds could start blowing...

on the other hand did you hear the one about the koala bear that went into a restaraunt, ate a meal, pulled out a gun and shot the waiter, then walked out the door. The owner ran out screaming why did you do that? The koala stared at him and said, 'look at me, I'm a koala. That's what a koala does: eats, shoots, and leaves.'

off to bed

Could be worse.. Could be back at home in RI where its it is currently 3... Their forecast is :

Today...Mostly sunny. Colder with highs 10 to 15 above. Northwest winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Wind chill values as low as 18 below this morning.

Tonight...Mostly clear in the evening...Then becoming partly cloudy. Colder with lows around 3 below. Northwest winds 10 to 20 mph...Decreasing to 5 to 10 mph after midnight.

From the NWS ....
BBBBRRRR!

The low at my house this morning was -.04. Didn't quite make it to -1 but it was close! We watched it go down on a new digital therm./wx guage we bought this year.

Officially the low for Cincinnati was 6, taken at CVG, located in N. Kentucky.

The record low for yesterday, January 17, was -26 in 1977. The record low for today, January 18, was -26 in 1977 also. I remember that brutal winter! So it could be much worse.

Well...it has to be...because the all time record low for North America is -81F in Snag...and -90F in Siberia for the Northern Hemisphere...so it would have tobe wind chill values.

Got up to 14 F around noon...wind chill up to 1 F. This morning I got outside and was thinking, 'It's very cold, but could be worse.' Then this 15 mph gust blasts me head-on for like 10 straight seconds while I'm crossing the street. I had to turn my head around because I literally couldn't breathe...it was like a vacuum was sucking the air out of my lungs. Luckily I only have to walk across the street to get where I need to be.
