Another 6+ inches today. Adding insult to injury! Adding to an already ridiculous snowpack!
I need a Caribbean vacation!

Awesome pics! When there's that much snow, do you have to shovel your way OUT of the house? I mean, do you open your front door and see a wall of white?

I can't even imagine that much snow...I'd be ECSTATIC with just an inch of snow!!

I do have a website. But it's a website that helps keep in touch with family from Pittsburgh, Pa. (my hometown). That takes up much of my time. Maybe in the future, I can put my pics together on a site simply devoted to weather.

We have a front porch which keeps much of the snow at bay. Shoveling out the upstairs, roofless porch usually requires climbing out the window.

You have to be careful not to get trapped....

#10 Postby Persepone » Thu Jan 27, 2005 5:10 am

Southerngale: you have to be very careful not to get trapped in your house. If you don't have a doorway that is somehow sheltered from having snow pile up against it/drift against it, you have to make sure that it opens inwards (even if that means removing a storm door) or having a window you can go out or something. Depending on a garage door is dangerous because if there is a power outage, you may need a lot of muscle to get it open...
