Local met Se TX = next week could be interesting cold/precip

Any thoughts from the mets/forecaster/amateurs here?
I'm not holding my breath. lol

Forecast Discussion

THE SUN WILL RETURN I PROMISE. BY NEXT WEEK WINTER RETURNS WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF PRECIP??

Cold and wet conditions will continue through Wednesday morning. Alot of light rain and drizzle tonight as final disturbance moves through. Drizzle will end during the day Wednesday with temperatures remaining in the low to mid 40's. Hard to believe that some folks still believe it will be in the 50's Wednesday and Thursday. Clouds will hold through Thursday before clearing FRiday morning. Looking at temperature profiles Wednesday and Thursday highs will only be in the low to mid 40's at best. Finally the sun will return Friday and Saturday with warmer temperatures with winds off the Gulf. Next chance of thunderstorms will be Sunday ahead of next strong cold front. This front will arrive with cold temperatures and the possibility of precip next Tuesday and Wednesday. Looking at long range data it could be interesting.

UM...Looking at the GFS and EURO they seem to be pointing in that direction, however I have serious doubt with the whole system.

We need more model runs and to be closer in time before we start mentioning it. Once the mention goes out everybody wants accumulation amounts and exact rain/frozen precip lines.

As with todays event, it looked good for DFW to get a few inches, but as the day has progressed the cooling has yet to really kick in.

With that said, the overall setup is to say the least "interesting"

Santa Claus Jeny...see Santa Claus! Doesn't he usually bring good little girls what they want? :)

Thanks Jeff...that's all the local met really said too, that it could be interesting. He's the forecaster there who does the most hyping - he's a real weather enthusiast and gets excited. The others are more conservative and reserved with what they mention that far ahead.

Gives me something to hope for though!!

Even yet, our mets here in Baton Rouge are still trying to figure out what happened yesterday.

Mets here are saying some rain for next week with high temps in the 60's and lows in the 40's. That doesn't seem to be the right conditions for any white stuff. Things can always change though!
