Hey who took my storm away!!

Last ight we here in Dudly MA were forcast to get 10-18 inches of snow!!! Now here at noon, all the local mets are predicting 3-5 inches with mostly rain tomorow!!!...what gives..I was getting excited.....oh well :(

If it helps any, the guy on the NYC news says you're still getting a storm! 6-12 in Mass and 12-18 in Maine.

The powerful shortwave digging in back in N. Dakota is mostly responsible here. It is acting to push the leading shortwave much further north, so the low should end up further north than previously forecast. The models did this with a storm a couple of weeks ago, and here we go again. Boston will mostly see rain with only a couple of inches on the back side. Maine and parts of Canada will, however, be slammed by this storm.

Yes storm is more east. Snowfall amounts are being cut down in Boston.

The problem is the models. They were atrocious. Some were far to South and overphased(European) and others were far to North thus underphased(my solution that didn't quite happen).

You would think performance would be better. Time for some Plains storms, they are easier to forecast :D
