Another big storm - 3/7-3/8?

#1 Postby Planetsnow » Tue Mar 01, 2005 6:57 pm

I'm hearing that something might be brewing early next week. Any thoughts on this?

more like 3/8-3/9, but because of the active storm track and cold, it could happen, gfs is showing such a possibility but a little too far out to say

Warm for a change

#3 Postby jimvb » Tue Mar 01, 2005 7:31 pm

This one looks warm, for a change. The GFS run, the only one that goes out this far that I know of, shows a shot of warm air going up into the Northeast, all the way to Toronto. It will get up into the 60s and 70s in the Southeast from Norfolk to Jacksonville. Then a whack of cold air will follow behind the storm. To me it looks like much of the storm in the Northeast will be rain. There will be snow after the storm in Rochester, NY and New England, but not that much. The thing that I will see is a taste of spring whacked down again by the Big Cold Air Mass Monster of the Canadian Northeast. There is another storm, on the 12th (anniversary of the Great 1993 Blizzard) that could bring snow.
