I don't want winter to end!
CAll me crazy, nuts, looney, tooney, whatever, but I love cold and snow. I am going to miss winter badly when it's done. Here in Rochester, NY, there is snow everywhere, it's bitter cold, and everything is crisp and white. Spring, Summer, and Fall, are just boring green grass and annoying humidity, bugs, and scary severe thunderstorms and tornadoes that can do much worse damage than any snowstorm.
Long live winter. Spring, take your own sweet time. It would be sweet if March could leave like a lion, just like how it came, and maybe, just maybe, we can get a snowstorm or two in April. How about snow in May? It has happened before. In fact, Rochester has had snow in every single month of the year, including June, July, and August, so there is hope that winter will continue year round, although probability says likely not.
Maybe I should move to a really high mountain top or down to the South pole. I can't get enough of winter.

I don't want Winter to end, but just point like Anthony said it has been rather dissappointing up here in the Pacific Northwest, in terms of snow. I would probably welcome Spring and Summer if we had some active weather around here on a regular base during those months (i.e. severe thunderstorms, tornadoes, etc.).

LOL
You're not alone! Call me crazy and looney too. I love Winter as well and look forward to snow, cold and hibernating. Spring/Summer - eh, can take or leave them. Fall - love it. Used to say Fall was my favorite time of year but anymore Winter is a close second with me. And I often say maybe I should have taken up skiing years ago?
Just a week ago as February was winding down, I grew sad. Knowing Cincinnati's chances for one more decent snowstorm was next to none. Most people are anticipating Spring's arrival. But like you PlanetSnow, I'm not quite ready to say goodbye to Winter either......

I'm a spring and summer person no doubt. The only thing cold weather is good for is deer hunting. I'm ready for hot temps, seabreeze thunderstorms and hurricane season!! Late Spring and Summer are my favorite times of year. Some people can't stand 90 degree temps. with mid to upper 70 degree dewpoint readings but that's my kind of weather right there.

What a mixed bag this winter has brought! Some places have totally gotten the shaft on snow, and others have it by the truckload.
As for me...I am a TOTAL cold weather fan! I don't care if it's cold with snow, cold and clear, cold and cloudy, etc. I just love cold. In the summer we are lucky enough to see occaisional lows in the 40s (and even a rare upper 30s). It would just kill me to live in a part of the country where the summertime lows are in the 60s and 70s...yuck!
It is exciting that signs are already appearing that the west will be really cold later this year and next winter! Perhaps the folks (cold weather fans) in the NE will end up being envious of the west next winter.

Bob...How ironic that we both live where it is such a crap shoot for snow. We love it so much, but some winters are beyond frustrating. On the other hand, when it comes it is so incredibly awsome!
This winter, it has snowed on 6 different days at my place, and has only equalled an inch. Other years we can have 2+ feet on the ground. We are so overdue for that to happen, it is beyond ridiculous.

The forum is slowly dying down, there is one more chance of a snow event next week. A cold front will reinforce the cold are for the northeast on Tuesday and right after the cold air comes in, an area of low pressure could form and head east, it could be moderate or significant depending on the two jetstreams.

For the 1st time in 10 years, I can't WAIT until it's OVER.....funny, the droughts not over but yet.......we NEED A BREAK, a LOOOOOooooooooooooooong break. I'm sick of cold, cloudy, gloomy, dreary, wet days, I "NEED" the sun for about a month, then MAYBE, just MAYBE, I'll be ready for some more snow..........."NOT!"
