possible mid march snow event in southern plains?
some long range forecasts maps i was looking at bring snow/sleet some type of wintry precip to the panhandle of texas and oklahoma and west tx around abilene and sanangelo wichita falls and as far east as stephenville almost to the dallas fort worth area that ill be nice to see snow here again before summer hits wont it?? i wouldnt be surprised at all. remember april 5, 1996 when a west tx blizzard left lubbock with 18 inches of snow and abilene with 9 and weatherford had about 2 inches close to dfw.? dallas fort worth area might be kinda too far east. we will see.....

Looking at the GFSMR models as well as the EURO there will be cooler temps by late next week, but NO snow or freezing precip. A strong cold front for this late in the season should push down in to the Southeastern plains. Northcentral and East TX will see a back door effect from the cold front and it will drop temps by about 15 degrees below normal (71 is the avg temp for this time of year). High temps will be in the mid to lower 70's the next 7 day's after that a day or two in the mid to upper 50's with lows in the upper 30's and a gusty north wind. Then it's back to spring like temps and a wetter pattern to end the month.
