Geese Heading North

#1 Postby ETXHAMXYL » Wed Mar 16, 2005 9:03 pm

Heads up you Northerners!!! Tonight I heard a huge flock of geese honking as they flew over NTX tonight. Spring is coming soon. Here in Texas I have already mowed my yard. The only thing I hate besides all the pollen is the huge amount of dead stinking skunks on the roadways. SHHEEEWWW-Weeeee!

About 2 weeks ago, my son and I noticed a very large flock of geese heading North. They were flying at a very high altitude and there had to be 200-500 in the flock, if not more.

Yes--send those geese! We need spring...

Yes, we actually like the geese... the golfers, etc. hate them, but we think they are pretty...

And where there are geese, spring is not far behind.

They are slowly making their way north..The weekends snowstorm probably held them back if not pushed them into NEB for a few days..

The robins hung around here for the longest. Usually they just pass through for a couple of days but this winter they were here for a couple of weeks. They are gone now, warmth just around the corner.....MGC

My parents in Connecticut had about 40 robins at once the other day.

There's lots of robin around now and geese as well. I see alot of geese in pairs as well, so the mates have been chosen! :D
