Possible snow storm for SC on thursday. Also NC

#1 Postby Weatherfreak14 » Sat Dec 03, 2005 9:51 pm

They expect snow possibilities all they way down to hardeeville,sc this coming thursday. And maybe a few flurries and rain on the coast.

This is a slight possiblity but I say for columbia and northward can see some winter precipitation.

I agree with your ideas. The funny thing is a lot of models (GFS and others) have lost the surface depictions of the late week (Thursday, Friday) storm. But, it can still be easily followed by the 500-hPa pattern. The Euro shows a very deep wave coming out of the rockies, but strangely dampens it into nothing by the time it reaches the east coast. I suspect the modelling will eventually catch on to a deeper wave. This would imply snow for central and northern MS, AL, GA, SC and all of NC as well as possibly TN. I suspect that 3+ inches of snow will be possible due to the incredibly cold air around for this event.

I agree. Looks TN and NC will get the main event but yet SC that far south doesnt usually get snow until january. I live on coast and Local Mets said a possible flurry for the coast mixed with rain.
