All quiet in central Ohio?

I've noticed that all those Ohio folk who helped me understand the last 2 storms have suddenly gone quiet. I looked at various forecasts and i can see why!

Storms tracking to the south, north and east of us leaves us looking fairly quiet now up to christmas. Or have i missed something? I completly missed last Thursday's weather thanks to my mother-in-law visiting from England and i never got a chance to check the situation.

The big question here is...can we keep our snow cover right up until christmas day? Right now, i would say no.

As a person from the UK...i cant remember seeing snow on the ground during christmas day so it would certainly be different for me to see it here!

Its been a fairly decent couple of weeks around here though!

I'm still very much learning the weather around here. Last January i was preparing for a quiet and cold week of weather and instead we got about 3 or 4 clippers move through so i'm not doing too well!

Had our share of snow before winter hits. Should be quiet now till January I would imagine. Hopefully we keep our snow here. I would think we would have a better chance then u guys. We still have about 4" on the ground here.

We're getting some light snow now which is adding a little to the accumlation, though not really much.

But with a forecast high of 43F and sunny skies on Friday...no hope now for snow cover on christmas day.

Unless next weekend's system does something of course...but its too far away to put any detail on right now..so the safe bet is a green christmas for Columbus at this time.

It won't be a totally white Christmas unless a storm develops and takes the right path but, we've got two inches on the ground here on the east side of Columbus on the 19th. Forecasted high for the 20th is 28, the 21st 30, the 22nd 34...so we'll keep it probably until Christmas eve but, not sure about Sunday. There's always hope, though!

You never know!

But with temps in the 40's on Friday and Saturday, and with sunshine on Friday and rain on Saturday...i think we need to get tarps out over that snow if we want to keep it!

Timing and positon will be key for the weekend.

I think the best we can hope for for a white christmas here in central Ohio is that the rain turns to snow on Saturday night and then falls on a frozen ground. Personally, i dont think thats likely...but you never know...still a couple of days for things to sort themselves out.

At least theres no great big mild up in store for the weekend anyway, (in the style of that it did at the end of November anyway!)
