.LONG TERM (SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY)...
THE FORECAST GETS TRICKY SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY AS ANOTHER SLUG
OF OVERUNNING MOISTURE IS FORECAST TO CROSS THE AREA. TEMPERATURES
LOOK LIKE THEY WILL BE MARGINALLY COLD ENOUGH FOR SOME WINTERY
PRECIPITAION IN THE NORTHERN MIDLANDS. IT IS STILL QUITE UNCERTAIN
AT THIS TIME SO WILL HAVE CHANCE OF RAIN ... FREEZING RAIN OR
SLEET. GOING FORECAST HAS TEMPS ON MONDAY RISING INTO THE 40S BUT
IF THIS SCENARIO PLAYS OUT...IN SITU WEDGING OF SHALLOW COLD AIR
COULD KEEP TEMPS IN THE 30S. THE PATTERN DRIES OUT SOME TUESDAY
AND WEDNESDAY BUT ANB APPROACHING WAVE AMPLIFIES THE PATTERN AND
GIVES US ANOTHER SHOT AT PRECIPITATION ON THURSDAY.



They keep trending further south in the forcast for wintry weather. This weekend should be interesting.

Do you think they are downplaying the cold air? Now they are saying that precip for each wave that comes through will be fairly light. I know in 2003 when we had that severe ice storm, no one called for it till it was right on top of us. I think the temperatures will be colder than what they are saying. Models can't depict how cold it is going to be when a "wedge" even sets up. What do you think of our local meteorologist in Cola? They are calling for all rain with a little bit of sleet mixed in across our northern midlands. Tell me what you think!

I hope that the temps will be cooler than what they are calling for. I wish that Stormsfury still posted regularly in this forum because he spoke specifically about our area and was very good. He nailed the ice storm a couple of years back when nobody in our area was even talking about it.

Personally, I don't care for many of the mets. It seems that they always want everyday to be sunny and 70 outside.

Just my thoughts.
