From WFAA ABC 8
As the cleanup after Sunday's floods continues, freezing temperatures are heading for North Texas, meteorologists warn.
"Just last week, temperatures were above normal, and now as we head through the remainder of the work week, temperatures are going to be on the chilly side," said WFAA meteorologist Pete Delkus.
There will be frost across the region this evening, the first full day of spring. Lows are expected to reach 38 in Dallas, 35 in Dallas Fort Worth and 36 in Lancaster.
The cold weather will last until at least Thursday.
At the Dallas Arboretum, staffers were busy covering plants and flowers.
"Anything that could be nipped by the short freeze, we're covering up tonight," said the Arboretum's Dave Forehand. "All our bulbs are going to be fine."
The center is expecting crowds to come and see its flower displays this weekend.
