The GFS forecast that the pattern will begin to
shift by middle week allowing for the West Coast high pressure ridge to
begin to shift east into the plains states by Friday...with a
deepening and developing low off the California coast.
The European model (ecmwf) and
the GFS are coming into closer agreement for developing a series of
low pressure troughs that are forecast to move across the southwest
states over the weekend. With the increasing model consistency we
went a head and increased precipitation chc's over the weekend into the 10
to 20 percent chance range. We will have to continue to monitor this
situation as the details of timing...placement of the low and the
amount of moisture available unfolds.
